Merrie England

By

Edward German

7.30pm 24th to 28th April 2012
2.30pm Sat 28th April 2012

 at
Courtyard Theatre, Norden Farm Centre For The Arts, Altwood Road, Maidenhead

A unique opportunity to see this rarely performed uplifting show, packed with rousing music and staged with specially designed costumes, full orchestra and our renowned chorus and soloists.  Your evening will make you feel very much part of the Merrie England experienced – not to be missed

Celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of our own Queen Elizabeth by coming back with us to meet the first Elizabeth, whose reign gave us Shakespeare and Marlowe, Raleigh and Drake. This wonderful operetta completely captures the sprit of the times, and never more so than when the Earl of Essex leads the full cast in the show’s most famous song (which became a centrepiece of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee celebrations), ‘The Yeoman of England’.

Producer :                David Thomas
Musical Director :     Jonathan Bungard
